Greene Mountain Nutrition & Smoothies is a locally owned supplement store and smoothie bar in Essex, Vermont, serving the community since 2015. Our story started with a simple idea. Ryan and Jolene Greene moved to Vermont in 2013 when Jolene accepted a job with a local television station. Ryan was spending plenty of time at the gym and kept wishing there were somewhere nearby to stop afterward for a fresh, healthy protein shake.

When he couldn't find what he was looking for, the idea for Greene Mountain Nutrition began. In 2015, we opened our Essex store, combining a full-service supplement shop with a made-to-order smoothie bar. Our extensive smoothie menu was inspired by a place we loved while living in Louisiana, and has continued to evolve over the years based on what our customers want.

Since the beginning, Ryan has worked to build relationships with some of the best-known brands in sports nutrition. That allows us to offer a carefully selected variety of quality products while keeping our prices competitive with online and national retailers.

More than a decade in helping your health

But what really makes Greene Mountain Nutrition different is the experience you'll have when you walk through the door. We're not a national chain or a faceless online retailer. We're a Vermont family-owned business, and Ryan, Jolene and their daughter Aria are still part of the day-to-day operation. In 2016, we took our smoothie bar on the road for the first time, serving from a pop-up tent at the Nordic Soccer Tournament.

That little setup eventually grew into our custom smoothie truck, which now travels throughout Vermont for sporting events, festivals, community gatherings and private events for Vermont businesses. More than a decade after opening our doors, we're incredibly grateful that Vermonters continue to choose Greene Mountain Nutrition for supplements, sports nutrition and fresh made-to-order smoothies.
